ABOUT A COOKING DAY
My name is Mayte. In 2000 I moved back to my family’s farmhouse in Malaga countryside, making peace with the place where I was born. Here, following the steps of the extraordinary cook my grandmother was, I developed a passion for preserving the roots and essence of traditional gastronomy, as well as passing on my enthusiasm for local products and seasonal cooking.
So A Cooking Day was born. The commitment was to provide a tasty way to get involved with local culture and gastronomy through food related experiences where everything matters: from the relaxed and authentic atmosphere to the quality ingredients to the beautiful setting.
I will be happy to welcome you into our ancient farmhouse surrounded by acres of olive grove, almond trees and a Mediterranean orchard with orange, lemon, fig or pomegranate trees that will make you forget how close to the city we are.
