Join us for a two-day immersive gastronomic experience in the heart of Málaga, where culture, cuisine, and connection come together. Our Two-Day Market Tour & Cooking Experience is designed for travelers who want more than just a taste of Spain — it’s for those who want to live it.

Day 1: Explore Atarazanas Market – A culinary walking tour

Experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of Málaga’s Central Market

On the first day, we meet in downtown Málaga and begin a sensory journey through the vibrant Atarazanas Market, the beating heart of local life. Guided by your host, you’ll walk through stalls filled with fresh seafood, colorful produce, local cheeses, and artisanal products, learning about Málaga’s regional diversity — from coastal delicacies to mountain specialties.

Learn and shop like a local

We don’t just observe — we engage. As we explore, we’ll hand-pick seasonal ingredients that we’ll later use during the cooking class. The tour also includes cultural insights into Andalusian gastronomy, sustainability, and food traditions.

Tapas & drinks to finish like a true malagueño

After the market visit, we do as locals do: enjoy a refreshing drink and snack at a nearby bar. This is the perfect moment to rest, reflect, and enjoy the flavors of Málaga in a casual, authentic setting.

Day 2: Hands-on cooking experience at the farmhouse kitchen

A relaxed morning in the Andalusian Countryside

The following day, we welcome you to our traditional Andalusian farmhouse, surrounded by olive trees and nature. If the weather allows, we’ll begin with a short walk around the property, soaking in the peace and beauty of the setting.

Cook, learn, and savor traditional Spanish cuisine

The cooking workshop is hands-on, fun, and informative, focused on traditional Spanish recipes using the ingredients selected at the market. You’ll prepare three full dishes from scratch with guidance and storytelling woven into every step.

We pause mid-session for an aperitif and a glass of wine, before completing our cooking journey and sitting down together to enjoy the meal.

The art of the Spanish table: Shared meals and “sobremesa”

Meals are shared al fresco whenever possible. Expect Spanish wines, homemade treats, and good conversation. We take time to enjoy the Spanish “sobremesa” — the leisurely moment after a meal to sip coffee or tea and connect with your fellow cooks.

We were a party of 6 Swedish people who spent a cooking day with Mayte. We had a very pleasant day together with her and her friend, learning about Andalusian cooking and culture at her lovely house. For us who don`t speak Spanish it was very good that Mayte`s English is excellent. We can definitly recommend a visit and will certainly be back to her with other guests.

We were given this experience as a gift – and what gift it was! It was a perfect evening of delicious food, idyllic surroundings and wonderful company. We fell in love with the location as we walked the incredible grounds of this traditional home in the Andalusian hills picking fresh fruit from the trees. Then the cooking began… Mayte’s warm relaxed and friendly style made the cooking so much fun – we have already cooked her recipes at home and both felt very inspired by the love she puts into her food. Couldn’t recommend highly enough – a really special treat for all ages and abilities x

I spent a most enjoyable day in Mayte’s beautiful old farmhouse – full of character in beautiful surroundings. Enjoyed the whole day, preparing the food under Mayte’s instructions and most if all eating the freshly prepared Spanish dishes and sampling thyye Spanish wines. The walk in the garden picking fruit and herbs was an added bonus. I was made very welcome and enjoyed meeting Mayte’s parents and Coco.
A trip to Malaga area would not be complete without a visit to Mayte’s kitchen.
Highly recommended.

We spent the morning and afternoon with Mayte in her amazing farm home. We loved all the dishes that we prepared including the wine and the appetizers she served us before starting. I have taken several cooking lessons throughout the world with different cuisines and I have to say her cooking day is definitely in my top three all time favorites! Highly recommend her cooking for a day class!!
